Inside MRS Digital’s 200km Rowing Challenge for Comic Relief

At MRS Digital, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive impact – not just for our clients, but for our community too.

This month, we took on our biggest fundraising challenge yet: rowing 200km in a single day in support of Comic Relief. This is the equivalent of driving from London to Birmingham or, as the crow flies, from our office in Fleet to Calais in France.

The Idea Was Simple

✅ 200km total distance

✅ Two teams

✅ Two rowing machines

✅ One day to complete it

To add a competitive edge, we split into two teams – each racing to reach 100km first, while collectively working towards the full 200km goal.

The Day

We kicked things off at 8am, with the first rowers setting the pace. From that moment on, the machines didn’t stop moving, as the team pushed through nearly eight hours of effort, teamwork and determination.

The Finish Line

After nearly eight hours of continuous rowing, we crossed the finish line just before 4pm, completing the full 200km.

One team narrowly claimed victory, but the real achievement was the collective effort from everyone involved.

The Impact

Ultimately, this was all about making an impact.

Together, we’ve raised over £2,130 for Comic Relief, helping to support people facing poverty, hardship and inequality across the UK and around the world.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us – whether by donating, sharing our campaign or cheering us on throughout the day.
