How To Choose An SEO Agency

Choosing an SEO agency can be nerve racking, especially if you’re not totally sure what you’re looking for. SEO can be complicated and the entire industry is full of enough jargon and industry speak to make anyone nervous. With that in mind, MRS has put together a quick checklist to help companies find the best SEO agency for them.

The first thing anyone should look at with an SEO agency is experience. If an agency is pitching to you, they should be able to show you they have experience doing what they have promised. This does not mean an agency needs to have worked for someone in your particular industry, they just need to show you that they can deliver on their plans. Good quality case studies like ours are worth looking out for.

The next thing to look for in an SEO agency is redundancy. There are plenty of SEO agencies that only have one SEO professional. Even if that one person is the best SEO provider on earth, they are still only one person. That means when they are sick, on vacation or busy, they do not have the capacity to help you. In an emergency this can be a serious drawback. If an agency does not have an our team page, this should ring alarm bells.

The third aspect of a good SEO agency is long term planning. An agency should present a well thought out plan for your company, not just a generic pitch. Look for things like recommendations based on specifics about your website or industry. If the pitch feels generic, it probably is. Remember, generic plans give you generic results.

Finally, look for an agency willing to explain their plans. Never settle for a company that seems unwilling to break their plan down so you can understand what they will to do. This does not mean the SEO providers need to explain to you how they do what they do, they are not there to teach you how to do SEO. But you should understand what the goals are and why they are important. If an agency is unwilling to explain this they are lacking the customer service you need.
